Hard to imagine from these photos what this is going to look like. The green is so unusual in this it was a natural gray, dyed blue then over-dyed with a sage color. There is no way quite to describe how the colors kind of shimmy depending on what light you have on it. The end result will be a nice surprise.
Finishing work still remains and decisions abound. To Ghost Ranch or not to Ghost Ranch? The show opens May 1st, not long enough from now... The top two rugs, Ozark Fusion and the Signal have not been to the Ghost Ranch Show. I am thinking of taking them, a couple of looper rugs and the new wool one. I of course, kind of liking to work under pressure am hoping to whip out another wool one in under 10 days. We will see...
It must be almost Spring. Here are my newest offerings.
A shawl made from from Debbie Bliss Cotton and Noro blend. it is only about halfway done but I had to show how cool the colors are turning out. If you aren't into this shade of green, you just aren't into it.
The newest rug is a blend of blue, green, cream and wheat. the first picture shows the beginnings of the rug and then comes the shading in cream and green followed by the pick and pick and "New Mexico Blue Sky" yarn from Rose Vigil. I will be putting and interesting something in the middle of this rug, I just haven't figured out what yet...
Yipee!! I am ready to be struck by creativity...hmmm...I am waitng. My first idea did not pan out like I had hoped, so onward through the fog with this second combo.
It just wasn't earthy enough or natural enough or me enough... here's an additional pic of a shawl I just listed on ebay. The colors are fabulous!
I posted that on my FB page this morning and one gal did not understand it. I really don't know what she thought I meant as I later asked her and have not heard back from her. Here are a lot of pictures of new yarn, new rug fixins and just new stuff. Take a look!
Once upon a time there was a woman who was totally in love with fiber. She knit, she spun, she wove, she crocheted and she dreamt of fiber things, too.I love fiber, color and texture and all things handmade. In addition to weaving the looper rugs I knit wool hats and shawls and continue to follow my tapestry weaving path.
