Really Good News

I received quite a nice surprise this past Saturday. I had entered three of my weavings in the Ozark Folkways Fiberfest event which took place this past weekend. It was the third year for the event. Ozark Folkways has a long colorful history with NW Arkansas and the new director Rebecca Buchanan has been doing a top notch effort of promoting Ozark Folkways to the world. ozarkfolkways.org

I was fortunate to take some honors in the weaving category, 1st for Ozark Autumn and 2nd for one of my Sunflower series looper rugs as well as Grand Champion or Best of Show for my weaving Ozark Autumn. Pretty cool, huh?

Long Time Gone

Just trying to put a little bit of what I am doing now out there...

Fiber and Flowers and more flowers...

Early morning inspiration here in Wedington Woods...The gardens are exploding and these lovelies greeted me this early summer feeling morning. Thunder rumbling somewhere in the background I couldn't get the song Tapestry by Carole King out of my head..."My life has been a tapestry of rich and royal hue, an everlasting vision of the ever changing view, a wondrous woven magic in bits of blue and gold, a tapestry to feel and see impossible to hold." That kind of sums it all up doesn't it? Things are constantly moving, changing and shifting and yet when we give up the idea of holding on to it it becomes even a greater gift than we could have ever imagined.

More fiber Less Flowers...maybe

Hard to imagine from these photos what this is going to look like. The green is so unusual in this it was a natural gray, dyed blue then over-dyed with a sage color. There is no way quite to describe how the colors kind of shimmy depending on what light you have on it. The end result will be a nice surprise.

New Rugs, New Beginnings

Heading to Ghost Ranch Again?

Finishing work still remains and decisions abound. To Ghost Ranch or not to Ghost Ranch? The show opens May 1st, not long enough from now... The top two rugs, Ozark Fusion and the Signal have not been to the Ghost Ranch Show. I am thinking of taking them, a couple of looper rugs and the new wool one. I of course, kind of liking to work under pressure am hoping to whip out another wool one in under 10 days. We will see...
